About
Born from Loss. Built on Beauty.
I spent years walking through antique stores, estate sales, and old galleries, searching for a real painting, the kind that stopped you mid-stride. Dogs and horses rendered with dignity. The kind of art that felt old money, loud and quiet at the same time. I never found it.
When my dog, Liam, passed, the house went too quiet. Grief and bourbon became regular company. One sleepless night, I began creating portraits of him, and for the first time, I felt something close to peace.
It wasn’t paint. It wasn’t even real. But there he was again, his eyes, his calm, that old soul of his. For a moment, the room got brighter. I made one of Kelly next, my other Irish Setter. Then more. Dogs from the park. Strangers’ dogs. Every one of them carried a piece of something I’d lost. Warmth. Permanence. Soul.
Each McLaurens piece begins as a series of digital studies, hours of refinement until the light, posture, and soul feel right. From there, every image is transformed into a museum-grade giclée on archival canvas, mounted on hardwood with gold-trimmed framing. No reprints. No mass production. Only ten editions of each painting exist worldwide, each hand-signed and numbered with its certificate of authenticity.
Our framing partners craft every piece using heirloom-quality wood and finish, the same techniques used in old portrait houses. Each painting arrives ready to hang, protected and insured, the way fine art should be handled.
McLaurens was created for those who believe walls deserve respect, for those who appreciate the quiet permanence of heritage, craftsmanship, and loyal companions. These works are not trends. They are statements.
For collectors who see art not as decoration, but as inheritance.
